Daniel Carberg, tenor

Daniel Carberg, tenor, has performed with Sting, Piffaro, and The Catacoustic Consort, and performance venues include Disney Hall, the Concertgebouw, and Carnegie Hall. Dan will be playing the role of Orfeo in Monteverdiís L’Orfeo in Dunedin New Zealand in October 2010. A founding member of the Concord Ensemble and Gravitación, Dan also teaches voice, vocal pedagogy, and medieval/renaissance music history at Millikin University, where he is an Associate Professor. Dan directs a prestigious vocal ensemble, Tudor Voices, and is the music director, conductor, and continuo player for the Millikin Opera Theatre. Projects have included Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, and Handel’s Alcina. Dan served as faculty at Bella Musica, Millikin’s immersion program in Urbania, Italy for two summers and most recently has launched the New Brunswick Early Music Festival in Canada, serving as Co-Artistic Director. Dan holds a doctorate in music from Indiana University, Bloomington.
